Want to Raise Great Kids?
“…some will win, some will lose, some are meant to sing the blues…”- Journey
(Sorry, I couldn’t resist.) Because actually I’m a passionate believer that failure is the midwife of success. In my own coaching practice, from starvation to coaching people in the Obama White House, trust that there were countless failures. And each of those failures taught me something.
I’ll avoid getting on my soap box about our society’s dangerous addiction to the narcotic of Success, but for parents especially, I think the pressures to succeed, and to have successful–whatever that means–kids, is gruesome. And unhelpful.
That’s why I’m thrilled to be quoted in this excellent Romper piece, Want to Raise Great Kids? Teach Them to be Losers!
Because, in my own life experience, the less you fear failure, the easier it is to be brave enough to create your greatest success.
