Women’s Wealth

“I can’t go back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.” –Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Carroll, 1865

I’m always skeptical of people who talk about the “good old days,” since in my (short) life experience, the past rarely lives up to our Photoshopped and sepia-toned fantasies. Many people love the past because they understand how that story ended, whilst the present remains alive and thus intimidating.

Welp, I guess that’s one way to live. Another way, is to learn the lessons of the past, and incorporate them into our present day choices so that the future becomes so bright, we gotta wear shades.

To that end, I’m sharing here a podcast I had the privilege of taping with the wonderful women at Glen Eagle Advisors, LLC for their wonderful series, “Women’s Wealth: The Middle Way,” about my own journey as an entrepreneur and nag coach.  If you’re seeking TMI, I mean, life lessons, enjoy, since I certainly don’t hold back.  One of my favorite playwrights, Joe Orton complained that people who airbrush the truth are guilty of “verbal asterix,” and I couldn’t agree more. If you at home are thinking about starting your own business, or in any other way, making those necessary changes to your life that have been keeping you up at night, perhaps listening to this podcast will help you. Spoiler alert: I did what I had to do, and so can you. Give yourself the permission you need to get out of a life that no longer suits your needs.  Or, as that sensual American genius Walt Whitman said, “Re-examine all you have been told in school or church or in any book, and dismiss whatever insults your own soul.”
